An (interesting) trip to Bubbles & Bells

So, I told you last night that Momma Gena and GrandDanny have headed to Ohio for a mission trip! Daddy decided to borrow Momma Gena's car for the week since Noah can not ride in the putt-putt truck. Mommy had to work today, so this was a great opportunity for Daddy to keep Noah and be able to take him somewhere. Mommy needed some help printing some invitations, so Daddy pack me and Noah up and off we went!!

Daddy decided to take the car key off of Momma Gena's key ring and put it on his. He says that he did not want the girly key ring, but Mommy and I know that it is because he would not be able to keep up with 2 key rings. Daddy did not realize that Momma Gena's car has a key to unlock the door and a key to start the car... well, the key to unlock the door is locked in the car. Noah and I are stuck at Bubbles & Bells.

There are 2 spare keys to the door of Momma Gena's car... they are both in Ohio! Not a good day for Daddy! Papaw is very good about getting into cars, but he is at a wedding. Daddy has called Pop-A-Lock and $40 later, we are in the car!! What a day!

Ear Pulls and Tail Wags

Life has officially gone to a new level with all of these babies around. Jake is almost 14 months old and Noah almost 6 months old. Jake is now walking all over the place and Noah is rolling all around. Mommy will put Noah on a pallet in the living room, go do something in the kitchen to come back and find Noah clear across the room from where she left him. I really have to be on my toes to protect myself.

Mommy is very good about making sure that Noah is gentle with me. She lets him rub me, and I sit patiently, all while Mommy says "Gentle". I am ok with Noah rubbing me because I know that as long as Mommy is there, I am safe.

But I finally got if from Jake tonight. We are Momma Gena and GrandDanny's house tonight because they are leaving tomorrow morning for Ohio for a mission trip. I was laying, like a good girl, on my rug, minding my own business and Jake pulled my ear. I yelped... it hurt. I cried and Jake cried. The family laughed! Jake and I did NOT find this funny. I ran to my Mommy and then I ran and sat on the couch with Uncle Paul--- that was my "safe" spot.

Sometimes I accidentally wag my tail in Noah's face. Mommy doesn't particularly like this, but says that Noah's face is funny. He sits there just blinking his eyes.

I know that this was only the first of MANY ear pulls to come. I just didn't see it coming this soon. I will be ok. I will survive. But only as long as I get treats and loves following the ear pulls.

And that's just the dog's life!

If only I had been there...

Momma Gena called me yesterday. I missed a prime opportunity at her house on Monday. There have been rumors floating in the Kidron 'hood that there are wild
c-a-t-s messing things up. She always makes sure that GrandDanny turns the lights on for me when I am in the back yard and it is dark. She wants to make sure that there are no wild c-a-t-s trying to get me, or me to get them!! So, Monday afternoon, Momma Gena, GrandDanny and Jake go next door to see Mrs. Dot. As they are leaving Mrs. Dot's house, they notice that a baby raccoon is laying in the yard. Apparently something has gotten it. We are afraid of a wild c-a-t. But can you imagine the commotion that I would have caused if I had seen the baby raccoon first. Mommy says that every hair on my body would have stood up.

GrandDanny took care of the baby raccoon and Momma Gena says that it is in Heaven. Poor baby... if I had only gotten there first!

I am so confused

Mommy can not fuss at me. It really is not my fault. She even told me so this morning.

I have a new routine. Whenever I come inside from checking out my backyard (aka. "doing my business") I always beg for a treat. (well, that is not the new routine.) This has been an always thing for me. It does not matter where I am, I always ask for one. Freckles taught me this trick, and it works! So, my new routine is taking the treat that Mommy or Daddy gives me and I put a baby (my stuffed animal) in my mouth, and I go to the top of the stairs and I eat my treat. Yes, this means that all of my babies end up upstairs. And they are just scattered everywhere. (I'll have to take a picture and show you.) Well, sometimes I get so many treats that my basket ends up empty. That was the case this morning. Mommy lets me in, gives me my treat and I grab a baby and head off up the stairs slowly. Mommy caught up with me on the stairs only to find that I did not have my baby in my mouth. I had one of Noah's babies. It really is not my fault. How am I supposed to know the difference between my babies and his babies? So, this one was a little larger, a little heavier and it did not squeak. It sings "Jesus Loves Me". Mommy said the only thing better would have been if I set the music off and it started singing to me.

Mommy grabbed the toy out of my mouth and tried to give me a new baby, but it just wasn't the same. I ate my treat downstairs and pouted all the way of the stairs.

So, how am I to tell the difference in my babies and his babies? 5 months ago, there were only 1 set of babies in my house!!

And that's just the dog's life!

Happy Trails To You

You must know how much I LOVE spending the day at Momma Gena and GrandDanny's house. I have my routine down from the moment I walk in the door to the moment I leave! As soon as I get there, I instantly must check on both Momma Gena and GrandDanny. Then I must go outside to check out my backyard. There are rumors floating around the 'hood that their are either wild cats or bob cats in the woods, so I must check to see if they have entered my yard.

I walk out the door into the screened porch, out onto the patio and into the yard. I walk in the same path every time. I have walked my "trail" so much that I have made a path of my walk way. Mommy sings "Happy Trails To You" as Momma Gena and GrandDanny fuss at me for the path in the grass.

I am so programed! There is no changing me. I enter the backyard at least 100 times while I am their house. The rest of the time is spent either in Momma Gena's lap, sunning on the the front bed or begging for a W-A-L-K.

As soon as Mommy or Daddy get there, I give my kisses and have a mini- "MD". I go outside then back in and straight to my food bowl. I always tump my food bowl over so that all of the food goes everywhere. I do make a mess, but I usually always clean it up. I always begin to eat as soon as I realize that it is time to go home. Literally... there have been times that Mommy is packing up Noah and I begin to eat. Once I begin to eat, Daddy sits back down. I leisurely take my time eating and then must again check out my back yard.

I love spending days at Momma Gena and GrandDanny's house. I prefer Noah not to be with me while I am there because he messes up my valuable lap time.

So, "Happy Trails, To You!!!"

And that's just the dog's life!
