Lazy, Lazy Day

Well, today is one of those days. Mommy, Daddy and I have had a lazy day. Boy - has it been great! Most of my day has been spent snoring on Mommy's lap. This weekend was non-stop for Mommy and Daddy.

Mommy's business had bridal show yesterday at B&A Warehouse. Saturday was spent preparing the store for the show. Mommy, Ms. Carlie and Ms. Robin packed up the store to take it to B&A. Daddy elected for me to stay in my "bedroom" on Saturday, since there would be so much in and out of the store. (And they did not expect to be gone too long.) Daddy ended up having to help Papaw with a project at Nanny's house. Mommy went to pick up Daddy. She was sad that I was not with her so that I could see Nanny and Buddy. (Buddy is Nanny's dog. He is a Great Dane/Dalmatian mix. Yep - he is HUGE! He scares the poop out of me every time!)

Momma said that is was good that I was not with her because Buddy had played in something that he should not have and would require a bath when Nanny got home. She said he smelled really bad! Momma did not get to see Nanny. Did not sound like I missed too much.

Momma Gena and GrandDanny came over Saturday night for dinner. I was in a playful mood Saturday night.... because I had been in my bedroom for 7 hours. I demanded walk after walk. Nothing satisfied me.

I had church Sunday morning. All of my "babies" attended with me. We did not have a baptism this week. (Mommy and Daddy say that we have baptism when one of my babies falls into my water dish in my bedroom.) Momma Gena and GrandDanny came to get me after their church. I was so excited to be free from my "bedroom" and ready to RIDE! Everything was good until we got to their house. Just as we pulled up, 2 small strangers were sniffing out the front yard. They even felt the need to mark their territory. HOW DARE THEM - THAT IS MY YARD! You know I went NUTS! I demanded a walk and had to sniff the entire front yard to see where they had been. Fortunately it was not too bad.

So, that brings us to today. Lazy! Daddy felt Noah kick for the first time today. That has been the highlight of the day. I think I felt him kick. Mommy was laying on the bed and I was beside her with my head on her tummy. She said that she could not tell if it was Noah kicking or if it was me swallowing. I say it was Noah!

Mommy's new website went live yesterday. Mr. Caleb did a great job getting it together so fast! Her new business is Se Marier Weddings. Check out her new site -
http://www.semarierweddings.com/. She is promoting wedding planning full time now! (I do not know what that means for Bubbles & Bells. I guess we will find out later!)

Random Family Photos

Here are some random photos that I have found on Papaw's computer. I hope that you like them!

You will see pictures of Freckles (the basset hound.) Freckles belonged to Momma Gena and GrandDanny. Freckles and I got along so well! She had to leave us in March 2007 due to illness. (When Freckles left is when I got so spoiled!)

You will also see my HORRIBLE Christmas photos that my Mommy had made last year.

Why Am I spooked? It is not Halloween yet!

I was spooked... and spooked BAD! Daddy laughed at me, but I did not think it was funny. I even had Momma Gena spooked at first, until she figured out why I was spooked... and then she laughed! Let me tell you my side of the story.....

Daddy has decided to tamper with the E-Bay thing, and he excitingly sold his first item. We left home extra early yesterday so Daddy and GrandDanny could complete their E-Bay transaction. I did as I always do when I get to Momma Gena and GrandDanny's house. I said my hellos, gave my morning kisses and asked to check out the back yard. (Must check to see if any C-A-Ts have walked through in my absence.) I made it out the door and that was about it. I stopped dead in my tracks and all of my hair on my back stood straight up! I started growling. Daddy said I even started foaming at my mouth. Momma Gena was spooked by my reactions, thinking there might be someone in the backyard, and yelled for my Daddy to come see what was wrong.

Daddy came to me and saw what I was spooked by. (Your not going to believe what it was...) It was a stick ghost decoration that Momma Gena put in her backyard. Yes, that is all that it was. Daddy found it funny! Momma Gena found it funny! GrandDanny found it funny! Maggie did NOT find it so funny!

Daddy walked into the yard with me, while I was still foaming at the mouth and snarling. I walked clear around the yard to avoid meeting my assailant. Daddy tried to get to me meet my assailant, and as I inched forward, he shook the ghost in my face and made me jump. I was not happy at my Daddy! Momma Gena told Daddy that I inched around the backyard all day. I have posted a picture of my assailant!

Momma Gena did not feel good last night. Daddy told me that she is ok... had a reaction to new medication. Momma Gena--- I am glad that you are ok! I love you bunches!

Meet My Family

I figured that since I talk about my Mommy and Daddy all of the time that it was time for you to meet them.

The link below is a family album that Papaw and Daddy made. (Papaw took the pictures and Daddy made the album.) You will notice that I got tired of having my picture made (because I am THE WEDDING DOG ... and wedding dog's do not have their picture made!)

The album was made before Mommy found out about Noah. Check later for tummy shots with me and Mommy! (I am going to tickle her tummy!) :-)

Convict in my back yard!!

You must be wondering by my title. No, I did not have a jail convict in my back yard, I had Convict in my back yard. Let me explain.

There are lots of dogs in my neighborhood, many of who we do not know their names. So, we come up with names for them. This started with "Bob Jones". "Bob Jones" has a brother named Cornbread (and that is his real name.) Cornbread and his brother always broke out of jail and came to my backyard to play with me. My mommy and daddy knew Cornbread's name and who his owners were. He lived 4 houses down from us. We did not know (and still do not know) Cornbread's brothers name. We thought that since Cornbread was such an original name for a dog that his brother needed a good old southern original name. What more original can you get than "Bob Jones"? Cornbread and "Bob Jones" owners came up with a solution to the duo breaking out of jail. They now have a fence within their fence.

A couple of weeks ago, and new face showed up in my backyard. Daddy noticed him long before I did. I overheard Daddy mention him to Mommy before she let me out to do my business. Guess who comes to see me while I am outside. That is right... "Convict". (His nick name came from him constantly "breaking out of jail.") Daddy had been watching "Convict" come walking down the alley followed by a sleepy teenage boy chasing after him. This happened about 3 times. The 4th time, "Convict" was loose without his follower. He stayed in the backyard with me for a few minutes. Mommy finally convinced Daddy to take "Convict" home. 30 minutes later, Daddy was still walking around the neighborhood with "Convict" following at his feet. Mommy thought that it was funny, but I did not. I tried to talk Mommy into letting us go walk with Daddy and "Convict". Daddy decided to give up, knowing that "Convict" would eventually find his way home. It was a sad face when Mommy shut the front door with "Convict" on the door step. We have yet to see "Convict".

Full of Vinegar!

As Momma Gena says, I have been full of vinegar today. Ask my mommy! I went to work with her this morning and tore into everything. When Mommy and I got to Bubbles & Bells, Daddy had breakfast cooked. He cooked bacon, eggs and toast, YUMMY was it good! Papaw gave me a few bites of bacon.

After breakfast I laid down on my bed like a good girl. I felt the need to be on "Shred Duty" today. Papaw started going through papers in his briefcase and I decided I needed to help him. He started to trash some junk mail that I helped myself to. I shredded it to pieces! FUN! I also love bubble wrap that comes in Mommy's shipments. I kept pulling it out of the trash wanting to shred it. Daddy told me no! :-( When Nina came to the office, I helped myself to my bag and pulled out my treats. I took the bag to Nina, (I knew that she would give me one. I told her that I had been a good girl.) She asked Papaw and Mommy why I took her my treats. She asked if anyone ever gives me treats, I said "no" (with my sad eyes.) HEHE!

Daddy brought me to Momma Gena and Granddanny's house on his way to The Point. Momma Gena invited me to help her dig up turnip greens. I have been dying to get into the turnip green patch and she would not let me... I figured I should help since she was offering to let me help dig. We have not dug them up yet, but I am sure that I will make a game out of it. Aunt Jennifer and Cousin Jake are coming over tonight to eat turnip greens. (Uncle Paul does not eat "grass" so I do not know what he will eat. Guess I will have to offer him some of my chicken, rice and veggies.) Mommy is coming to eat after her wedding rehearsal. She does not let me go rehearse with them. Don't know why... I would be a good girl. She said that I would be busy smelling the golf course at this wedding. Oh well.

Check back tomorrow to see how the turnip greens are. I hope I get a bite since I am helping with them. I will ask my Granddanny! :-)

My Busy Weekend

Who thinks the life of a dog is lazy?? Not me! I don't know where I went wrong. I thought I was supposed to be a lazy dog, home all day on the couch. NOPE! Not me! But, I am into everything all the time. If you have ever met me, you know that I do not sit still long. My Nina says that if it were possible for my Mommy to birth me, I am exactly what she would get. Nina says that I have my mommy's personality.

My weekend was crazy! Friday night I spent the night with Papaw. We stayed at Grandma Dison's while Nina went to Meghan's football game. I love going to Grandma's house because she has deer that I love to trail. After trailing and sniffing, I sat inside with Grandma. I helped Papaw eat his dinner (taco pie - Yum!) that Nina cooked. As soon as he took his plate to the kitchen I gave up on him and sat in Grandma's lap. (I know where the good love comes from.) What I did not tell you about Grandma -- she is 82 years old and has demensia and has to have care all of the time. I love sitting in Grandma's lap (when Mommy lets me) and getting her petting. Nina got home from the game and I was so excited to see her. I love her so much!

Papaw and Nina took me home Saturday morning when they picked up Daddy for their wedding. Papaw told me that he would see me later. When they got home at 8:30, Daddy let me out of my bedroom (Mommy was at Meghan's band jamboree with Aunt Dorinda) and I went nuts. Papaw did not come see me. I started crying and clawing the door as I saw Nina and Papaw drive away. Daddy had to call Papaw and ask him to come back. I was fine then.

Sunday was a fun day. Cousin Jake was dedicated at his church. Mommy and Daddy came home to get me and we headed to Moody for lunch at Aunt Jennifer's house. I love going to Aunt Jennifer's because there is a dog park in her neighborhood. I BEG for walks when I am there. We spent all afternoon there before going home.

I was so tired Sunday night that I went to bed at 10:15 and slept until 9:30 on Monday. Mommy and Daddy went to start to register for Noah. Mommy said that she picked out some cute blankets that have puppies on them. I am so excited.

Mrs. Rhonda had Baby Luke on Friday night. He is fortunately doing well. I have added her blog as one of my favorites. You can keep up with his progress. He is in NICU and is very little. Pray for him and his Mommy and Daddy.
